The Bernier/Eliades Gallery is pleased to host Antrea Tzourovits’ first solo exhibition with the gallery in Athens, titled Empty Hums. The opening will take place on Thursday, 12 February 2026, from 19:00 to 21:00, in the presence of the artist. Tzourovits is a visual artist whose primary focus is sculpture and installation. His practice centers on the exploration of materiality, structure, and corporeality through works that activate space as an experiential field.
In this exhibition, Tzourovits presents a new body of work that returns to questions that have long preoccupied him. This new series is grounded in manual labor and personal experience and memory. The artist seeks a delicate balance between sculpture and painting, the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, functionality and abstraction, as well as between interior, exterior, and in-between space. His approach is post-minimalist, as the handmade, corporeality, materiality, emotional charge, and intensity of touch constitute fundamental elements of his process. The word Hums in the title does not refer to sound but to an intermediate state of uncertainty, full of potential. The word Empty underscores the artist’s intention to avoid constructing a narrative. The exhibition title aims to evoke an encounter between “something-like” and “nothing specific,” through objects that resemble many things yet deliberately remain in a state of suspension, refusing to settle into a definition that would delimit their possibilities.
Antrea Tzourovits (b. 1987, Montenegro) lives and works in London. He received an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London (2022), as a NEON fellow, and holds a degree from the Athens School of Fine Arts (2020). His work has received significant distinctions, including the Kenneth Armitage Foundation Postgraduate Sculptor Prize, the UCL East Provost’s Art Prize, and the Hari Art Prize in 2022. In the same year, he was awarded a fellowship by ARTWORKS of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Tzourovits has presented his work in solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad, while recent group exhibitions include 5-7-5 (Athens, 2025) with ARTFLYER, Space of Togetherness (Athens, 2024), organised by NEON and curated by Elina Koundouri, and My Dreams Were Dashed Against Your Walls (Chios, 2024), by DEO Projects and curated by Akis Kokkinos.

Η γκαλερί Bernier/Eliades έχει τη χαρά να φιλοξενεί την πρώτη ατομική έκθεση του Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς στον χώρο της, με τίτλο Empty Hums. Τα εγκαίνια θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Πέμπτη, 12 Φεβρουαρίου 2026, από τις 19:00 έως τις 21:00, παρουσία του καλλιτέχνη. Ο Τζούροβιτς είναι εικαστικός με κύρια κατεύθυνση τη γλυπτική και τις εγκαταστάσεις. Η πρακτική του επικεντρώνεται στη διερεύνηση της υλικότητας, της δομής και της σωματικότητας, μέσα από έργα που αξιοποιούν τον χώρο ως ενεργό πεδίο εμπειρίας.
Στην έκθεση Empty Hums, ο Τζούροβιτς θα παρουσιάσει ένα νέο σώμα δουλειάς, το οποίο επιστρέφει σε ζητήματα που τον απασχολούν διαχρονικά. Πρόκειται για νέα σειρά έργων που βασίζεται στη χειρωνακτική εργασία και την προσωπική εμπειρία και μνήμη. Ο καλλιτέχνης αναζητά τη λεπτή ισορροπία ανάμεσα στη γλυπτική και τη ζωγραφική, το δισδιάστατο και το τρισδιάστατο, τη λειτουργικότητα και την αφαίρεση, ανάμεσα στο εσωτερικό, το εξωτερικό και τον ενδιάμεσο χώρο. Η προσέγγισή του είναι μετα-μινιμαλιστική, καθώς το χειροποίητο, η σωματικότητα, η υλικότητα, η συναισθηματική φόρτιση και η ένταση της αφής αποτελούν θεμελιώδη στοιχεία της διαδικασίας. Η λέξη Hums του τίτλου δεν αναφέρεται σε ήχο, αλλά σε μια ενδιάμεση κατάσταση αβεβαιότητας, γεμάτη δυνατότητες. Η λέξη Empty υπογραμμίζει την πρόθεση του καλλιτέχνη να αποφύγει την κατασκευή αφήγησης. Ο τίτλος της έκθεσης επιδιώκει τη συνάντηση ανάμεσα στο «σαν κάτι» και στο «τίποτα συγκεκριμένο», μέσα από αντικείμενα που μοιάζουν με πολλά, αλλά παραμένουν συνειδητά σε μια κατάσταση αναστολής, αρνούμενα να κατασταλάξουν σε έναν ορισμό που θα οριοθετούσε τις δυνατότητές τους.
Ο Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς (γεν. 1987, Μαυροβούνιο) ζει και εργάζεται στο Λονδίνο. Έλαβε MFA στις Καλές Τέχνες από το Slade School of Fine Art του University College του Λονδίνου (2022), ως υπότροφος του NEON, και είναι πτυχιούχος της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας (2020). Το έργο του έχει λάβει σημαντικές διακρίσεις, μεταξύ των οποίων το 2022 τα Kenneth Armitage Foundation Postgraduate Sculptor Prize, UCL East Provost’s Art Prize και Hari Art Prize. Την ίδια χρονιά του απονεμήθηκε υποτροφία από το ARTWORKS του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος. Ο Τζούροβιτς έχει παρουσιάσει τη δουλειά του σε ατομικές εκθέσεις τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και το εξωτερικό, ενώ οι πρόσφατες ομαδικές του εκθέσεις περιλαμβάνουν τις 5-7-5 (Αθήνα, 2025), σε συνεργασία με το ARTFLYER, Space of togetherness (Αθήνα, 2024), σε διοργάνωση του ΝΕΟΝ και επιμέλεια της Ελίνας Κουντούρη, και My Dreams Were Dashed Against Your Walls (Χίος, 2024), σε συνεργασία με το DEO Projects και υπό την επιμέλεια του Άκη Κόκκινου.
